Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Description:

eyelidThis patient underwent lower eyelid blepharoplasty with fat repositioning in the tear trough. The bulge that develops below the eye is actually formed by the fat around the eyeball (intraorbital fat) bulging forward. When the patient looks up, you can see that the bulging fat is exaggerated. Her surgery involved a cut inside the eyelid, with removal of some of this building fat, and repositioning of the remainder of fat into the hallow beneath the eye known at the tear trough.  The repositioned fat will fill this hollow permanently. These photos are taken 3 months after surgery.

Brow Lift and Blepharoplasty

Description:

This patient underwent endoscopic brow lift surgery using endotines, and an upper eyelid blepharoplasty with removal of the medial fat pad.  Surgery was performed with general anesthesia. After surgery, patients can expect to have some mild to moderate bruising around the eyes. Stitches in the upper eyelid crease are removed between days 3 and 5. Stitches within the hairline are removed on post op day 10. It may take up to 3 months to see the final result of surgery.

Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty

Description:

This patient had upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty performed to help open up her eyes. Both skin and fat were removed from the upper and lower lids during this procedure. The combination of upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty is also called “4-lid blepharoplasty”, or “quad blepharoplasty”. After eyelid surgery, patients should expect puffiness and bruising around the eyes that generally lasts 1-2 weeks. After upper eyelid blepharoplasty, patients will have stitches in the upper eyelid crease that will be removed 3-5 days following surgery.  Depending upon the exact technique required for lower eyelid blepharoplasty, there may, or may not, be stitches to remove below the lower eyelid.

Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Description:

This patient had upper eyelid blepharoplasty with removal of both skin and fat. The procedure was performed in the office under local anesthesia.  After eyelid surgery, patients should expect puffiness and bruising around the eyes that generally lasts 1-2 weeks. After upper eyelid blepharoplasty, patients will have stitches in the upper eyelid crease that will be removed 3-5 days following surgery. This photograph was taken approximately 3 months after her surgery. When she closes her eyes in the after photo, her upper eyelid incisions are barely visible within her natural eyelid skin crease.  These incision generally heal extremely well, and are essentially undetectable when fully healed.
